The ongoing CESR and CMBV research project ‘The European Stage – Performing Arts, Art of Performance’ is holding cross-discipline research seminars (2024-2028) on the performing arts.
The seminar sprang from the idea of encouraging across the board reflection on the CESR research project ‘The European Stage – Performing Arts, Art of Performance’, bringing together the permanent members of the project as well as researchers attached to other institutions who provide valuable input and support. It will notably involve studying the performing arts from a very broad perspective, observing the creative process in its entirety. The seminar will focus on the materiality of stage productions (i.e. texts, scores, props, choreography, costumes and décor), as well as how the productions (themes), players and skills circulated and the financial aspects involved.
