The CMBV Choir School offers around sixty children, boys and girls from Year 2 to Year 9, high-level vocal and musical training integrated into the French national curriculum’s adapted timetable classes, in partnership with the Wapler School and Jean-Philippe Rameau College.
The children follow a progressive programme spread over four half-day musical sessions per week, combining general education with vocal practice. They discover music in a unique environment, within a curriculum primarily focused on choral practice, developing both artistic skills and personal growth.
From secondary school onwards, young singers may join the Choir of Pages and Chantres of the CMBV, performing alongside professionally trained adults. They take part in concerts, recordings, and tours in prestigious venues such as the Château de Versailles or the Philharmonie de Paris, as well as in the Jeudis Musicaux at the Royal Chapel.
Cycles and Teaching
The training is organised into two educational cycles, each corresponding to a school level and musical pathway:
- First Cycle (Primary, Year 2 → Year 6): learning singing and music, discovering the fundamentals of the musical pathway
- Second Cycle (Secondary, Year 7 → Year 9, The Pages): deepening musical skills and participating in artistic projects
Progression from the first to the second cycle is decided based on evaluation of results and musical abilities by the teaching team, coordinated by the Director of Training, in collaboration with representatives of the French national education system.
