Petits motets
Nicolas Bernier (1664-1734)
CMBV choir Les Pages are joining forces with the Sainte-Anne-d'Auray choir for a concert at the Abbaye Sainte-Anne de Kergonan, as part of the 12th edition of the Festival Itinéraires en Morbihan, which takes place in remarkable heritage sites, from must-see monuments to more intimate venues.
Following the visit of the Sainte-Anne-d'Auray choir to the Royal Chapel of the Palace of Versailles in March 2026, Les Pages will in turn be welcomed to one of Brittany's remarkable heritage sites: the Benedictine Abbey of Kergonan. A jewel of Neo-Romanesque art, built in the 20th century from grey granite typical of the region, a few kilometres from the Carnac alignments, this building will resound to the sound of motets by Nicolas Bernier. Bernier, who was organist at the Royal Chapel from 1723 onwards and responsible for the education of the Pages after the death of Michel-Richard de Lalande, composed with great mastery of the art of counterpoint, blending French and Italian styles to perfection. This Breton concert is not only an opportunity for Les Pages to perform “their” favourite repertoire, but also to discover another institution rooted in a specific place, heritage and repertoire.
