As part of its 40th anniversary celebrations, the Centre de musique baroque de Versailles is organising two professional days on Friday the 2nd and Saturday the 3rd April 2027, dedicated to training, transmission and the development of practices in early music.
Present in numerous conservatoires, higher education institutions, specialist music education establishments, early music centres, academies, professional ensembles and performing arts organisations, early music has gradually established itself as a fully-fledged artistic, educational and professional field.
Yet the sector is currently facing a number of questions: the attractiveness of training programmes, changes in student numbers, professional integration, the place of historically informed practices in educational institutions, the new skills expected of musicians, the relationship between artistic practice, research and transmission, and the evolution of the profession.
In response to these challenges, the CMBV wishes to provide a space for exchange and collective reflection, bringing together all those involved in the transmission of early music: artists, teachers, researchers, educational coordinators, students, young professionals, directors of ensembles, academies or early music centres, specialist journalists and observers of the sector.
