The first artist residency project featuring the Centre de musique baroque de Versailles, the Diane française ensemble and the Pontoise baroque festival: a baroque orchestra academy run by Stéphanie-Marie Degand in partnership with the Cergy-Pontoise regional conservatoire.
Teachers and students from Pontoise regional conservatoire will be running a week’s programme on composer Jean-Marie Leclair (1697-1764), founder of the French violin school and surprisingly neglected after his death.
The joint project will be coordinated by the residential ensemble and culminate in a public performance of the composer’s work.
This new venture, also open to Val d’Oise music schools, is headed by Stéphanie-Marie Degand and soloists from the Diane française, ensemble in residence at the Pontoise baroque festival from 2019-2021.
