The Centre de musique baroque de Versailles and the Collegium Marianum ensemble are preparing their 4th Akademie Versailles in Prague. After the themes of baroque orchestra, voice and chamber music it’s time for French opera!
The French-Czech partnership started up in 2016 and will continue until 2021. The CMBV and the Collegium Marianum ensemble present another Akademie Versailles, the international academy for French baroque music in Prague, with support from the French Institute, the Czech conservatoire and the Prague academy of music. 2020 will showcase French opera, and provide an introduction to baroque musical style and practices, covering repertoire language, interpretation, gesture and dance. With specialist coaches, around thirty students from around the world will complete their musical education by studying the music of the greatest composer under Louis XIV, namely Jean-Baptiste Lully.
