Program
Focus on 17th and 18th century French baroque music
Following the first Académie in the Hungarian city of Pécs in 2017, the CMBV is now running a week of French baroque masterclasses and workshops in Vác.
On the strength of the links forged in 2014 with the Orfeo Orchestra and Purcell Choir under György Vashegyi, the CMBV has created other artistic and educational partnerships in Hungary. In conjunction with Filharmonia it is organising the 38th Early Music Days event in Vác, running an Académie for young musicians and a series of prestigious concerts. It opens with grands motets by Lalande performed by the Orfeo Orchestra and Purcell Choir and closes with Te Deums by Charpentier and Desmarest played by the ensemble Les Surprises under Louis-Noël Bestion de Camboulas. A dozen distinguished French repertoire specialists will be giving private tuition and group classes to around sixty international students, providing advanced courses in the French baroque style.
