At the start of the new season, the Centre de musique baroque de Versailles is highlighting three new publications that bring together education, research and the history of performance: three new volumes in the Découvertes collection devoted to the viola da gamba, Benoît Dratwicki’s book on singers at the Paris Opéra under the Ancien Régime, and a collective volume resulting from the ThéPARis project on theatrical exchanges between Paris and the provinces.

The CMBV’s publications enrich the Découvertes collection with three new volumes devoted to the French repertoire for the viola da gamba. Created by viol players, performers and teachers, this anthology is aimed at amateurs and students from Cycle 1 to Cycle 2, with pieces for solo viol, duo and ensemble. Designed both for learning and musical practice, these volumes offer modern editions that remain faithful to the sources and are adapted to the needs of students, teachers and amateur musicians. This new series continues the educational ambition of the Découvertes collection: to make heritage repertoire accessible while providing performers with clear, practical and historically informed tools.

Edited by Barbara Nestola, Emanuele De Luca and Bénédicte Louvat
Classiques Garnier edition
Published by Classiques Garnier, Le Théâtre entre Paris et les provinces de France. Ancrages, circulations et transversalités — XVIIᵉ-XVIIIᵉ siècle brings the ThéPARis research project, led by the CMBV, Université Côte d’Azur and Sorbonne University, to a close. Edited by Barbara Nestola, director of the CMBV’s Research Department, Emanuele De Luca and Bénédicte Louvat, this collective volume explores the circulation of theatre in France under the Ancien Régime. Between local roots, artistic circulation and exchanges between Paris, Versailles and the provinces, it invites us to rethink French theatrical and musical life not only from the perspective of the capital, but through the exchanges, networks and dynamics that connect these stages.
