The Centre de musique baroque de Versailles is hosting a new session of the CESR research seminar of the research group ‘The European Stage – Performing Arts, Art of Performance’, devoted to questions of circulation in European theatre.

Building on the research carried out through the ThéPARis and ThéPARis-France projects, this session will explore questions of circulation and cultural exchange in seventeenth- and eighteenth-century European theatre.

Particular attention will be paid to the circulation of people (playwrights, composers and performers), the subjects and themes of dramatic works, and the transmission of expertise, including that of artisans and theatre technicians.
