The 11th Muséfrem event at the Maison des Sciences de l’Homme in Clermont-Ferrand ( jointly organised by the CHEC & the CMBV) explores the activities of church musicians outside their choir.
For a long time, only church organists and singers were thought to pursue several professional activities (singing not being required in abbey and parish churches on a daily basis), but gradually evidence has emerged that members of even the largest cathedral and collegiate choirs had several other activities. Muséfrem will be exploring this phenomenon at its next event this autumn.
