In conjunction with France-Portugal 2022, the CMBV is running an international symposium with the Centro de Estudos Musicais Setecentistas de Portugal and with support from the French Institute.
In 2022, the CMBV’s research unit will join the Centro de Estudos Musicais Setecentistas de Portugal to run an international symposium on the migration of musicians across Europe in the 17th and 18th centuries. It will explore how they circulated between the different territories and social milieux, and will look more closely at the artistic practices that were established thanks to this cultural migration.
