This is a new phase in the fruitful collaboration between the CMBV and Hungarian conductor György Vashegyi with the performance and recording of a hitherto unpublished version of Rameau’s Les Fêtes d’Hébé.
Tirelessly pursuing their exploration of 18th century French baroque opera, György Vashegyi and the CMBV now focus on one of Rameau’s greatest contemporary successes which was performed for almost 50 years until the French Revolution, namely Les Fêtes d’Hébé ou Les Talents lyriques. This version has never been previously performed or recorded. It includes a whole new Act plus the modifications Rameau made to his work in 1747 eight years after its creation for a performance at the Académie Royale de Musique. With the benefit of recent research findings and the new edition by CMBV partners Société Jean-Philippe Rameau (part of a revival of Rameau’s complete works), this new version is graced by the presence of leading repertoire singers Chantal Santon Jeffery and Reinoud Van Mechelen.
