The CMBV and the early music department of the Paris CRR (regional conservatoire) are joining forces to revive Ariane et Bacchus, a little known masterpiece by Marin Marais. The CMBV will be publishing the score of Ariane et Bacchus for the occasion.
A series of interpretation & analysis workshops and conferences on the subject offer students from the Paris, Versailles and Orsay conservatoires a better understanding of the work. The conferences, to be held in the Paris CRR, will be delivered by baroque experts throughout the 2019-2020 academic year. In line with the topic of Marais, a seminar on the ‘island leitmotif’ organised by the Sorbonne will provide insights into the composer’s masterpiece.
Finally, to reproduce the original music as faithfully as possible, the CMBV is loaning Vingt-quatre Violons du Roi replica instruments to students for the final performance.
