Theater Molière Sorbonne, in conjunction with the CMBV and other leading artistic and research centres, is performing a historically informed version of Molière’s last masterpiece, Le Malade Imaginaire.
To celebrate Molière’s 400th anniversary, the Théâtre Molière Sorbonne has joined forces with its artistic and research partners to offer the public an exceptional and totally unique aesthetic experience – the chance to witness a historically informed production of Le Malade Imaginaire, Molière’s most famous comédie-ballet, sublimated by Marc-Antoine Charpentier’s music and Pierre Beauchamps’ choreography. This cross-discipline initiative provides coaching and experimentation and will cover all aspects of the work, including declamation, interpretation, music, song, dance and acrobatics, as well as decor, costumes, props and lighting. The spectacle, a unique blend of comedy,
music and dance, offers an insightful reincarnation of the performing arts and theatrical practices in France during the Grand Siècle. A CMBV Page will take the role of Louison. Scores are provided by the CMBV.
