Program
Arias and scenes from operas by Rameau, Mondonville, Dauvergne, Berton, Cardonne, Francœur and Rebel.
In conjunction with the CMBV, Cyrille Dubois, one of the top young French tenors, offers a recital of colourful French arias from the Age of Enlightenment.
Interested in all musical repertoires and enthralled by France’s musical heritage, Cyrille Dubois has chosen to offer highlights from ballets and tragédies lyriques performed at the Académie Royale de Musique and at the court of Louis XV. As well as arias from some of Rameau’s greatest works such as Platée and Les Boréades are works by lesser-known composers exploring like Dauvergne, Berton, Grenet, Iso and Cardonne. Accompanied by the Hungarian orchestra and choir directed by György Vashegyi, the scores are brought to life with all their sensitivity and verve.
