With the aim of teaching baroque at secondary school level, the CMBV has launched an introductory performing arts course in the town of Maurepas (78), for pupils in Years 5,6 and 7 (aged 9-12) and residents in the Friches district.
The CMBV has embarked on an ambitious baroque project with the town of Maurepas (78) and the French Board of Education.
It invites pupils to embark on a voyage of discovery and experimentation, its cross-cutting artistic and cultural approach including music, theatre and dance as well as applied arts and techniques in line with the school curriculum and involving artists from the CMBV.
The project addresses pupils at an important time in their schooling (Year 6 -8) and also reaches out to residents of Maurepas, notably from the underprivileged area of Les Friches. In collaboration with local families and municipal services, this cross-generation initiative is building on the achievements of the secondary school project to reach out to a wider public.
From La Fontaine to Molière
Since 2019, La Fontaine en Scènes has invited residents to explore (and perform) the universal cultural heritage of the fable, as immortalised by Jean de la Fontaine. The project highlights the various methods of transmission, develops learning skills and promotes self awareness via its inclusive artistic workshops and hands-on introduction to the world of performing arts.
